Abstract

|
Aging society problem is one of the most critical social issues nowadays. Government welfare plan and technology for welfare medical systems have been under active development for a long period of time in the western well-developed countries. Especially, Korea is one of the fastest aging countries, and we need a high-tech based welfare medical systems for well-established elderly life and technology development of medical systems for elderly. Currently existing medical systems are not suitable for the diseases and functional disorders that are generally caused for the elderly. Also, technologies for improvement of sensory organs and physical functions by quantitative measurement and analysis for physiological, psychological and behavioral characteristics have not been developed enough. This paper introduces wide range of technologies for elderly-friendly medical systems which are highly interested as a new industry for economic growth in order to solve the problems of aging society.
